Description
Necole is your typical pretty suburban girl. She has been sheltered her entire life, and is bored with the normality in her world. She's in her last year of high school, and is college bound. Her life's biggest challenges are deciding if she wants to wear her Gucci or Prada sandals to school. She thinks she has a new love interest in Mark, the new guy in school, until she's thrown a curve ball. The curve ball comes in the form of Carmelo aka Black.
Black is from the streets of Fifth Ward. He and Necole have little to nothing in common, but the two somehow find their way together. So many times there were signs telling Necole that he wasn't the one for her, but she'd never been one to deny what she felt in her heart. It doesn't take long before Black's gangsta image interferes with Necole's squeaky clean life. She and her mother become fast enemies, and she relies on Black to save her from the hellacious atmosphere he helped her create.
Being young and naïve isn't going to help Necole, after she's torn away from life as she knows it, and is tossed into the hood with the sharks. She thinks that she's in love, and no one can tell her differently. That is until the façade fades, and she sees how far off course she's fallen with Black. Still, she finds it impossible to escape Black, and his abusive ways. She's blinded by "love" and has to find her way out.
